I. What do I need to do before using VENIS services?
*****************************************************
Please, contact the VENIS network administrator ( g.vecere@itlink.it )
in order to provide the public URL for your VENIS node that will be associated
to your domain.

II. How can I run VENIS Virtual Machine?
*****************************************************
Once you have received the confirmation from the VENIS administrator, you can run the Virtual Machine (the .ova file) with a virtualisation platform such as VirtualBox or VMWare.
With VirtualBox, select File -> Import Appliance and select the ".ova" file.

III. How to start all VENIS services?
*****************************************************
Once you have started the Virtual Machine, you can start the simple wizard that will allow you to start all services.

In order to start the wizard, start the start_venis script with the following command:
./start_venis.sh (password: venis)

The basic operations you will be asked to perform are the following:
- make and update from the SVN repository in order to get the latest version of the code by selecting "SVN update"
- select the first menu in order to insert your "Instance Administrator Email"
- select the second menu item, which is "Email configuration", in order to setup the email server correctly
- [optionally] add and configure adapters for your system
- once you are done, save all changes and reboot the machine by selecting the corresponding menus

The machine will reboot and all services will be running.

IV. How can I access to VENIS?
*****************************************************
Once you have performed the previous steps, you can use your browser to visit the URL
you provided to the VENIS network administrator.

You will also receive, by email, the access token, which is a link to your home page on VENIS.

Enjoy your VENIS platform experience!
